Hi and welcome to this blog!

I am a Creative Overthinker! I am someone who has a lot of interests – I am passionate about writing, blogging, marketing, sales, and social media. For a long time, I approached them as separate parts of my life. My after-hours creativity had nothing to do with my day job, and my marketing curiosity did not develop past reading amusing case studies.

As a salesperson for the past 10+ years, I’ve always wanted an outlet to discuss my profession in a productive way. A lot of times a retail job might seem too trivial, something in between other projects. It gets associated with minimum wage and is something that kids do when they are in high school or just out of college. And it could be that, or it could be a profession to be great at, and it takes a lot of knowledge, practice, and care. I’m happy to share my experience and discuss the best sales tips and techniques.

I also have small business experience. Between September 2015 and December 2017 I was a handmade jewelry maker. Yes, one of those crazy dreamers hoping to run a successful business out of their living room. Long story short – things didn’t quite work out for a number of reasons, which – rest assured – you’ll hear all about if you stick around for long enough 🙂

I also have extensive social media managing background. Remembering my first SMM experience in 2008 makes me giggle now as so many things have changed over time. Marketing and sales have been transformed by social media. Everything is completely different from even 5 years ago, and every year brings a stellar amount of change.

If it sounds like I have a lot of hobbies and interests – well, that’s because I do. Reading books like “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron and “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert made me realize that it’s ok to connect different parts of life that have been partially suppressed that don’t seem to have much in common, and develop all of them into features of one true self. All these interests can live together in harmony, adding to each other and creating something wonderful. Maybe, I can write about my experience and thoughts to share them with other people. Maybe I’ll even find others who have a similar journey, and we can create a community of people who are brave enough to turn their dreams into something more!
